Gathering

Gathering skills harvest raw materials from the world. You pick a node, such as a fishing spot, a tree, an ore vein, an animal den, or a crop patch, and your character works it for materials and XP. Higher-level nodes need a higher skill level and reward better materials and more XP.

Each gathering skill supplies one or more processing skills:

Work fishing spots for fish meat, the backbone of Cooking, along with shells and scales that feed other crafts.

Fell trees for logs, the raw material Crafting saws into planks for accessories, talismans, and tool parts. Logs are also burned into charcoal for smithing.

Break ore veins for metal ore, which Blacksmithing smelts into bars for weapons, tools, and gear.

Track animal dens for pelts, turned into armour by Tailoring, and meat for Cooking.

Cultivate fields and patches for plant fibre (woven into cloth), grain (cooked or brewed), and medicinal herbs for Alchemy.
